Unfortunately, they have been unable to add another member to their family. Kourtney Kardashian recently took a break from treatments and medication to see if she and Travis could achieve pregnancy without the help of science. On Kourtney’s Instagram Stories, she revealed she is “Finally getting my energy back” after the IVF process, along with a black and white pic of her on a treadmill; she wrote:

“Finally started getting my energy back ten months after IVF. For anyone else going through it, it gets better.”

In one episode, she opened up about her fertility journey on the show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”: “The fertility journey, Travis and I, we stay in the moment and just do the steps we need to do.”

“It is nice to hear good news and have some positivity. We love that, but we just wait to hear the final words”.

In another update, Kourtney said that the egg retrieval didn’t go how she and Travis hoped. It retrieved the egg but didn’t make it to the embryo stage.

She already has three children with her ex Scott Disick (Mason, Penelope, and Reign). In contrast, Travis has two children with Shanna Moakler (his ex-wife), Landon, and Alabama.

There Are Still Trying To Conceive After IVF Struggles

After struggling with an IVF, it is believed that the Kardashians star has not given up on welcoming a new piece of sunshine with the pop-punk drummer. According to an “insider,” Kourtney and Travis still want to conceive, but for now, Kourtney took a break from IVF. She said that In Vitro Fertilization hasn’t been the greatest experience.

Why Does An IVF Fail?

You probably have heard warming stories about IVF treatments. However, sometimes patients do not achieve pregnancy; here are some reasons an IVF fails:

  • Female age.  As women age, egg quality decrease. It is medically proven that women have less chance of becoming pregnant as they age.

  • Ovarian response. In the first steps of the IVF treatment, an injection of a stimulating hormone is required to increase egg production. In some cases, ovaries do not respond correctly to this medication and fail to produce multiple eggs.

Our fertility specialist Dr. Félix Atondo, says, “If a poor ovarian response happens, it doesn’t mean the end of the IVF journey. It is possible to try it again without any complication, don’t give up! We are a family at the service of yours”.

  • Chromosomal abnormalities. IVF can fail due to embryos with chromosomal abnormalities, meaning that the embryo has an extra, irregular or missing portion of DNA. The body rejects the embryo resulting in an unsuccessful IVF.

  • Embryo quality. When eggs and sperm are mixed to create an embryo, it can appear healthy in the lab, but when implanted into the uterus, there is a possibility that they fail due to an unseeing defect.

Our IVF lab and experienced and high-skilled embryologists count on the latest technology. We watch the embryos’ progress to keep them healthy in a stable environment.

  • Lifestyle. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle before and during IVF helps to achieve pregnancy. If you smoke, have bad nutrition habits, or smoke, it can negatively impact your fertility. Our specialists recommend certain foods to stay healthy when undergoing an IVF.
